Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to enter a package type for a sales part, package part

Prerequisites:
Data Type Value Description Remarks

Pallet Type XX XX A pallet type has to be registered

Package Type

IFS Racing has introduced a new cardboard package for one of their products. Your task is to enter this item in the program.

Entering a Package Type

  1. Open the  Package Type window, and create a new record (F5).
  2. In the Package Type field, enter the package type ID, for example, XX (replacing the XX with your initials).
  3. Enter a description of your package type, for example, Cardboard.
  4. Save your entries (F12).
  5. Select the Price tab.
  6. Select a row and create a new record (F5).
  7. Enter a validity period for your package type by using From Date and To Date.
  8. Enter a price for your package type.
  9. Enter the percentage of the package that can be recycled.
  10. Save your entries (F12).
  11. Select the Pallet tab.
  12. Select a row and create a new record (F5).
  13. Enter a pallet type (XX).
  14. Enter the packages per layer. (How many packages fit in one layer on the pallet type?)
  15. Enter the number of layers. (How many layers of the package type can fit on the pallet type?)
  16. Select the necessary default pallet. (Note: You can enter several pallet types for the package type but only one can be the default type)
  17. Save your entries (F12).
