Enter Public Holiday Compensation Day Type

Explanation

This activity is used to to enter the day types you need, to define the PHC schedules. The PHC day type controls how the compensation will be calculated and presented in the time card result. You can chose between the Fixed Value, and the Normal Hours alternative.

Fixed Value lets you enter the wage code and the number of hours in the PHC day type. This will override the information in the ordinary working hours schedule.

Normal Hours lets you use the information from the ordinary working hours schedule. In this case you do not enter any value in the PHC day type. This is instead retrieved from the ordinary day type.

Prerequisites

Before you can enter a PHC day type, the day types to which you will refer must have been entered.

System Effects

As a result of this entry, you can define the dates in the PHC schedule.

Procedure

The Fixed Value option

  1. In the Value Type list, click Fixed.
  2. Enter the wage code you would like to have in the time card result in the Wage Code field.
    Note: Only Increment wage types and not absence wage types should be used to set up the PHC schedule.
  3. Enter the value you would like to have in the time card result in the Fixed Value field.

The result of this is that the entered wage code will be added to the time card result with the entered fixed value.   The wage type will be retrieved from the wage code overview.

The Normal Hours option

  1. In the Value Type list, click Calculated.
  2. Enter the normal hours wage code from the ordinary schedule in the Calculation Wage Code field.
    Note: Only Increment wage types and not absence wage types should be used to set up the PHC schedule.
  3. Enter the wage code you would like to have in the time card result in the Wage Code field.

The result of this is that the entered wage code will be added to the time card result with the same amount of hours found in the ordinary day type for the specified normal hours wage code.
