Redesign Compatible Unit

Explanation

This activity is used to redesign an activated compatible unit or a unit structure for upgrading or decommissioning purposes. Once redesigned, a new revision of a compatible unit structure is created in planed status. This new revision does not copy or inherit any execution items from the previous revisions. New execution items, cost associations and project connections have to be added if required, depending on the two purposes mentioned above. It is also possible to create multiple redesign revisions, out of which only one is set to release before attending to activate or decommission the unit. 

Prerequisites

An activated  compatible unit or structure must exist.

System Effects

• A new compatible unit revision of planned status will be created.
• Execution items of the previous revisions will be lost.

Procedure

1. Open the Compatible Unit Navigator.
2. Search for an existing compatible unit parent whose structure has been set to Activated.
3. Right click on the General tab or on the tree node it self . Select the Create Redesign Revision option. The Create Redesign Revision dialog opens now.
4. Enter a description for the new redesign revision in the Revision Description field.
5. Use the check boxes and select the required sub units that need to be created as new redesign revisions. Select All option expands and marks all sub units at once.
6. Set the dialog OK.
