Create Macros

Explanation

Use this activity to create macros. Macros are actions that will be performed when a predefined process is executed. For example, you can define that a particular message box will appear when the PRINT process is performed on a WORD application.

Prerequisites

Document macro blocks must exist.

System Effects

Defining and saving a value in the Application, Process, and Action fields creates a unique macro.

Procedure

Use the following procedure to create your macro. Existing macros can be queried for and changed as needed.

  1. Open the Macro Basic window and click the Document Macros tab.
  2. Click New.
  3. Use the List of Values to enter a value in the Application field. This is the application for which the macro is created.
  4. Select one of the script values in the Script Language field.
  5. Select a document process value in the Process field.
  6. Enter a value in the Action field which describes the macro's action or event.
  7. Enter a main function and then a description for the function. In the Main Function field, enter the method or the function that is called first.
  8. Click Save to save your macro.
