Connect Alphanumerical Attributes

Explanation

Use this activity to connect alphanumeric attributes to a selected technical class, enabling user-defined characteristics and attributes to be linked together within a template. This optional task is to be performed by a system administrator or equivalent person.

Prerequisites

This activity has the following prerequisites:

• The Characteristic tab must be enabled in IFS Admin for the IFS object. 
• The alphanumeric attribute must have been entered as basic data in the Technical Classes and Attributes/Attributes window. 
• The technical class must have been entered as basic data in the Technical Classes and Attributes/Classes window.

System Effects

As a result of this activity:

• The alphanumeric attributes will be connected to a technical class and can be linked to a template.

Procedure

To perform this activity, follow these steps:

1. Open the Technical Class Template window.
2. Query in the Technical Class field in the window header for the technical class to which you want to connect alphanumeric attributes.
3. Click the Alphanumeric tab.
4. In the Attribute field, create a new record, and then select the attribute you want to connect to the technical class from the List of Values.
5. Enter other field values as desired.
6. Save the changes.
