Select Information Sources

Explanation

Use this activity to select an Information Source or multiple information sources from the Select Information Sources dialog box. This dialog box shows all the visible Information Sources within the application and it is customizable. It represents the available Information Sources in the form of a tree .

Prerequisites

Before attempting to select an Information Source make sure that, the relevant information sources have been enabled in IFS Solution Manager. If not inform your Systems Administrator.

System Effects

As a result of this activity one or many Information Sources can be used to design a report.

Configuring Select Information Sources

  1. Click Go to Design to open the Select Information Sources dialog box.
  2. Select one or more information sources depending on the requirement of the design. The selected Information Sources will be displayed under the Display Items list.
  3. Click OK.
    Note: Additional Information Sources can be added using Information Sources.

Troubleshooting Select Information Sources

The Select Information Sources dialog box may appear empty or displaying only a subset of available information sources. The reason can be one from the following.

  1. Current user has not been granted access to some or all of the non-visible Information Sources.
  2. IFS Business Analytics Client Navigator has not been properly configured. In most cases the navigator is configured during installation/upgrade. For more information, please refer to Setup BA Client Navigator in the Technical Documentation.
