Calculate Suggested Maintenance Level and Select Revision

Explanation

This activity is used to apply the work order part maintenance level baseline and to generate suggested maintenance levels for the entire structure of the maintenance overhaul object (work order part) or for a subassembly within the structure.

A revision is typically selected when the work scope is first created, when a different revision for a subassembly is required or when the off-log changes due to different part found scenarios.

The suggested maintenance level is typically calculated when the work scope is first created or when changes to a released work scope are made. The suggested maintenance levels are chosen based on both maintenance level structure definition and the work scope tasks assigned. For example, if you were to perform this activity on the top level, it would consider maintenance level structure definitions for each subassembly in the overhaul part and the tasks assigned to it. If all affected parts for a modification associated to a sub-assembly are included in the maintenance level structure, then that maintenance level exposes all affected parts. This is shown by using the Will expose all affected parts check box on the Assign Maintenance Level sub tab. This information will help you to choose a correct maintenance level for the sub-assembly.

Note: The maintenance levels can only be defined for sub-assemblies but not for a piece part (leaf part or part which does not have components).

This activity sets the initial maintenance levels for sub-assemblies based on maintenance level baseline defined in the Shop Visit window. You can then update these baseline maintenance levels based on the suggested maintenance levels flagged by the system. The maintenance levels are assigned in work order part maintenance, which then are used to release work scope to create interim order structures.

Note: This activity can be performed after the creation of the interim order structure by release of the work scope and after the creation of the supply shop orders by the release of the interim order structure.

You have to select a revision for the part when performing this activity as there may be more than one revision available.
