Approve Disposition Line

Explanation

Use this activity to set the state of a shop order disposition line to Approved. Once the line is approved, the processing is complete. Note that no processes exist to unrelease or unapprove a disposition line.

Prerequisites

This activity requires the existence of a disposition shop order with the state of Released. In addition, there must be disposition lines with the state of Released with disposition line status fields having a status of Done where that value is available. The Receipt Done, Scrap Done, Discrepancies Done, and Repairs Defined fields must all have a value of Done when those are required.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the following system effects will occur:

• The state of the shop order disposition line will be set to Approved. 
• Repair shop orders will be created and the parts assigned to the repair shop order if the disposition code calls out discrepancies or if there is a modification that applies to this serial.
• If the discrepancy code has a cross reference to a VIM fault code, a fault history record will be created for the serial in VIM.
• Repair interim orders will be created which will serve as the demand order for the repair supply shop order.
• If only a repair to be done externally is called out, a repair purchase order and a repair interim order are created. The parts are assigned to the repair purchase order.
• If a repair to done externally and a modification are called out, a repair purchase order and its corresponding repair interim order are created for the external repair (the parts are assigned to the repair purchase order) and a repair shop order and its corresponding repair interim order are created for the modification.
• The repair purchase order is automatically released to effectively ship the parts to the vendor. 
• The pegged assembly shop order allocation will be updated and the appropriate parts assigned to it, if there is no discrepancy or modification called out. The user can update the allocation from the set of valid alternates.
• A disposition action history record will be created.
• An interim order history record will be created.

Procedure

1. Select one or more lines in the the table section of the top part of the Disposition Shop Order - Complex Assembly Repair window.
2. Right-click and then click Approve. A dialog box asks whether or not you want to approve the line or lines.
3. Click Yes. The status of the line or lines changes to Approved.
