Enter Transaction Reason

Explanation

This activity is used to enter transaction reasons. Transaction reasons are used when entering transactions relating to fixed asset objects in IFS Applications, and to specify the reason why depreciation parameters of an object are modified

Prerequisites

Before a transaction reason can be entered, the following must have been completed:

The company must exist in IFS Financials.
FA Accounting must be used as the code part function for a code part. This is defined in Define Code String.

System Effects

The transaction reasons entered will be available to be used when handling transactions relating to the acquisition, depreciation and the disposal of fixed asset objects. and to specify the reason why depreciation parameters of an object are modified for the depreciation method change log.

Procedure

Open the Transaction Reasons window and create a new record.
In the Transaction Reason field, enter the ID of the transaction reason and in the Description field, enter a description of the transaction reason.
Select the Acquisition Reason check box if you want to use the transaction reason as an acquisition reason.
Select the Depreciation Reason check box if you want to use the transaction reason as a depreciation reason.
Select the Disposal Reason check box if you want to use the transaction reason as a disposal reason.
Select the Depreciation Method Change Reason check box if you want to use the transaction reason for specifying the reason why depreciation method details of an object are modified.
Save the information.
