Enter User-defined Base Value

Explanation

Use this activity to enter user-defined base value information for a fixed asset.

Prerequisites

Before information can be entered in the User-defined Base Values tab, the following must have been completed:

• Information must have been entered in the General tab.
• The object type must be Normal, Not Depreciable, or Expensed.
• The user-defined base value type must have been defined in the User-Defined Base Value Types window.
• If an index is used for the user-defined base value, then the information for the index must have been entered in the Calculation Index window.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, more information for the object can be entered in the Depreciation Methods tab, and the Pre-posting tab.

Use the following procedure to enter information in the User-Defined Base Values tab:

1. Select the User-Defined Base Values tab.
2. Use the New function and enter the information.
3. Save when finished.
