Add Work Guideline to DOP Component / Operations

Explanation

Use this activity to add work guidelines to a selected DOP component or an operation. 

Prerequisites

The DOP component must not be in the Closed or Canceled status. 

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the system adds work guidelines to a DOP component or an operation. Please note that if you add a work guideline to a released DOP it will not automatically replicated to the pegged shop order.

Select Work Guideline Template

Procedure

  1. Select the DOP order or header to which you want to add work guidelines.
  2. Click Work Guideline from the right mouse button options.
  3. Click to create a new line in the table.
  4. To use an existing work guideline template, select the new line, right-click, then click Work Guideline Template. Select a work guideline template, then click OK.
  5. To create a work guideline manually, enter information in the Guideline Desc and Guideline Text fields.
  6. Select a value in the Guideline Type field. For component work guidelines valid values are Instruction and Reference. If you choose Reference, you must enter values for the X Coordinate, Y Coordinate, Z Coordinate and Reference Qty fields. For operation work guidelines valid values are Instruction and Subtask. If you choose Subtask you can select Required in the Sign Off Required field to prevent the operation from closing before the subtask has been signed off. Select Required in the Inspection Sign Off Required field to prevent the shop order from closing before the subtask has been signed off.
  7. Repeat steps 3—5 for each work guideline to be connected to the specific component or operation.
  8. Click Save.
