Define Contract Type

Explanation

Use this activity to define contract types that will be used in the service contract. The contract type can be used to group service contracts Examples of such contract types include, WARRANTY and SERVICE.

System Effects

As a result of this activity a new contract type   will be created. If you set the particular record as the default contract type it will be assigned as the default contract type to all new service contracts.

Procedure

1. Open the Service Contract Basic Data window, click the Contract Type tab and create a new record (F5).
2. Enter a unique identity for the contract type in the Contract Type field and a description in the Contract Type Description field respectively.
3. Enter a numeric value greater than zero in the LOV Order field if you want to select the value via the List of Values.
4. Save the information (F12).
5. Once saved, right-click and then click Set/Unset Default if you want to set the new record as the default contract type.
