Employee Data for Statistical Reports—Exercises
Main Exercise
Purpose: The purpose of this lesson is to define calendar
periods for statistical reports and to show how snapshots are created for employee
information used in reports.
Windows:
Period Calendar for Statistics
Headcount Statistics Snapshot
- Open the Period Calendar for Statistics window and create
a new record.
- Enter '2011' as the calendar ID and 'Periods for 2011' as the description
in the respective fields.
- Save the information.
- In the table of the window, enter the periods which belong to the calendar
as detailed in the table below.

- Save the information.
Perform the following exercise to create a snapshot of employee information from
companies 10 and 15 which are relevant to the first half of the year 2011.
- Open the Headcount Statistics Snapshot window and create a
new record.
- Enter 'SS2011' as the snapshot category and 'Snapshots for 2011' as the
description in the respective fields.
- Enter calendar ID '2011'.
- Save the information.
- Go to the Company tab. Create new records and enter company
ID's 10 and 15.
- Save the information.
- Go to the Periods tab and create a new record.
- Enter year '2011' and period 'Half 1' in the respective fields.
- Enter the system date as the snapshot time stamp in the Snapshot Time
Stamp field.
- Save the information.
- This action will create a snapshot of the selected employee information
in the database.
Note: If age groups have been defined in the Age Group
window, the employees selected will also be grouped according to their age as
it is valid for the calendar period.
