Purchase Group—Basic Data and Requirements Exercise

Main Exercise

Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to enter your own purchase group for purchase parts. Purchase groups can be used as a statistical category for obtaining statistical reports in query windows and printouts for purchase parts. They can also be used in posting control.

Entering Purchase Groups

1. Create a new record (F5).
2. Create a new purchase group for racing tires by entering XX1 (replacing XX with your initials) in the Purchase Group ID field.
3. Enter a corresponding description in the Purchase Group Description field.
4. Save your changes (F12).
5. Create another purchase group,  XX2, to be used for all types of services.
6. Enter another description that corresponds to XX2.
7. Save your changes (F12).
