Purpose: The purpose of this exercise is to borrow a document original from its archive.

Borrowing a Document Original

In this exercise, you are going to borrow a document original from the paper
archive. Borrowing an original is registered in IFS Document Management
to ensure traceability.

1. Open the Document Revision window.
2. Query for the search criteria shown below.

3. Click the Originals tab. Note that this document has one registered original.
4. Enter the following information in the indicated fields:
   • Borrowing Department:  Your department number
   • Borrowed By:  Your user ID
   • Date Borrowed:  Today's Date
5. Save the information.

Returning a Borrowed Original

When you return the original to its archive location, you must remove your signature to indicate that the document has been returned.

1. Open the Document Revision window and click the Originals tab.
2. Remove all information in the following fields:
   • Borrowing Department
   • Borrowed By 
   • Date Borrowed 
3. Save the information.
