Set an Operation On Hold
Explanation
This activity is used to set an operation on hold. Placing an operation on hold
indicates that the operation or subtask (from IFS/Vehicle Information Management)
is rescheduled within the same work order. You can resume an on hold operation or
subtask once proper conditions are met or the reason for placing the operation on
hold is removed. For more information refer to the activity Release an Operation
from On Hold.
If any operation or subtask exists on the work order with the On Hold
status, it will not be possible to set the work order to the Work Done status
or to a higher status.
Prerequisites
- The cause for setting the operation on hold must be defined in Operation
Basic Data.
- The operation must not be in either the Finished
or Cancelled status.
System Effects
- The following changes will occur on the relevant operation
record:
- The On Hold check box is selected.
- The on hold reason you entered when setting the operation
on hold will be displayed in the On Hold Reason and On Hold Reason
Code Desc. fields.
- A journal entry is created with the On Hold/Release From On Hold
event type. Information such as the on hold reason, the date and time operation
was put on hold, the ID of the user who put the operation on hold and a transaction
note (if entered) will be displayed. Journal entries are generated in the
Journal tab found in the Prepare Work Order and
Report In Work Order windows.
- All employees that are clocked in to the operation will be clocked out automatically.
- The total time for the operation per employee per day will be transferred
as a time report line to the relevant work order.
