Use this tab to create, modify, and view operations which are associated with a project item. This tab will be enabled only if the Use Project Operations checkbox is selected in the Project Item Navigator/General tab. Project operations are only allowed when the provide code is Make and using project operations is mandatory for configurable parts. If Use Project Operations checkbox is not selected, which is the default for non-configurable parts, operation lines will be retrieved from the relevant routing operations, from the manufacturing product structure or configuration structure according to configuration rules defined.
When we enter a project Item, copy a structure or build the configuration structure, the manufacturing routing operations which are associated with product structure or the configuration structure will be copied to this tab. The Routing Operation check box in the operation line will indicate whether it has been copied from the manufacturing routing operations. Copied routing operations can be edited according to the project requirement and this will be indicated by the Modified checkbox. In addition, the Modified Date and Modified By fields are useful for tracking purposes.
This tab can also be used to create project specific operations apart from the routing operations. Common operations can be created as a pre-defined template and connected to a project item later when needed. If you connect a routing template to a project item, the Use Project Operations check box will be selected automatically and all the operations in the template will be copied to this tab. When the Use Project Operations checkbox is selected, all the operations in this tab will be considered when creating the shop order.
The Update Operations right mouse button menu option can be used to update the list of operations given in this tab which will synchronize the project delivery structure with the latest operations from the manufacturing routing operations or from the template operations. For configurable parts, configuration rules will be re-executed when the Update Operations menu option is selected.
